Setting up Pon.net email in Mail.app
1. To start setting up OS X's Mail.app as your mail client, you'll need to open the
Apple menu and select "System Preferences..."

2. After the System Preferences window loads, click on the "Internet" icon to load
the
Internet Preferences.

3. Once you are in the Internet Preferences window, you will click on the "email" tab, and set
the default mail
client to "Mail." Then close the window and open up the Application called
"Mail."

4. In the mail program, click on "Mail" in the menu bar, and select
"Preferences..."
|
|
5. Under "Accounts" in the Preferences window, click on "Create Account" to
create a new mail account.
|
|
6. The Account type should be set to "POP Account."
In the Description field, type your email address.
Email address is your full email address.
Full Name is the name that will be appended to your email address when you
send mail.
Host Name is the incoming mail server, which should be "pop3.pon.net"
Username or Account ID is your Pon.net username.
Password should be your Pon.net password.
SMTP Host is "smtp.pon.net." Pon.net does not use authentication when
sending mail.
Next, click on "Account Options."

Business Emails Only: (i.e. .com, .org, .net, .biz -
other) --> Your User name MUST be your full email
address. |

7. The account options screen is optional. We suggest leaving
"use SSL" unchecked.
|
|
| After you've entered the options you want, click "OK" and close the
preferences window. Now, you can click on the "Get Mail" icon and Mail.app will
check for new messages and download them onto your computer. |
