These screen shots and instructions are designed to give you basic trouble shooting Windows NT 4.0 RAS (Remote Access Server). If you do not have it you will need your NT 4.0 Install disk in order to install RAS.
If this guide doesn't solve your problem with NT 4.0 please contact Pacific Online technical support and let us know what is going on.
You may notice minor cosmetic differences between the screen shots supplied here and your particular version of Windows NT. This may be due to different version (s) of the RAS server, or Windows NT 4.0 and should not effect the overall performance of your system.

Double Click on My Computer and Dial Up Networking.  Highlight the Pacific Online dialer entry you created in the Dial Up Networking folder, click on More and choose Edit Phonebook Entry.

On the basic tab make sure that the Entry name is listed as Pacific Online and make sure the phone number is entered correctly as shown to the right.  If you have a 56k account through Pacific Online, please go here.
Also make sure that under Dial using that the modem selected is indeed your modem, and that it is on the correct COM port.

Make sure that the Dial-up server type is selected as PPP: Windows NT, Windows 95 Plus, Internet.  If it is not, please change it to this.
The only Network Protocol that should be checked is TCP/IP if that is not checked please check it, and uncheck any other protocols that may be checked. Both Enable Software compression and Enable PPP LCP extensions should be checked.

Click on TCP/IP Settings.
