Please be patient while this page loads. There are quite a few

Step 1
Click on your Start button, then click on Run.

Step 2
Click the dot next to
"Connect using my phone line" then click on
"Next".

Step 3
Click the dot next to "Create a new dial-up
connection" then on click "Next".

Step 4
Enter the dialup number for your area in the "Phone
number" box, then uncheck the "Dial using the area code and
country code" box. Do not click on Next yet, but instead click on
"Advanced" and proceed to Step 5.
Note: You can get a list of Pacific Online dialup numbers from
our web page http://www.pon.net
but please be aware that Pacific Online will not be responsible for
long-distance charges incurred from using these numbers. Please verify
before-hand with either your operator or your phone book if the number
is local for your area.

Step 5
Click on the Addresses tab at the top. Click the dot next to
"Internet service provider automatically provides one", then
click the dot next to "Always use the following". Now in the
Primary DNS server box enter 216.229.96.10 and in the Alternate DNS
server box enter 216.174.192.250.
When you have entered all the data needed on this screen click on OK
and you return to the Dialup Number screen. Now hit Next to continue.

Step 6
Erase the contents of both the "User name" and
"Password" boxes. Now in the "User name" box in
lower-case type your full Pacific Online email address (with the @pon.net).
In the password box type your Pacific Online password.
Click on Next to continue.

Step 7
Erase the contents of the "Connection name"
box and enter in Pacific Online
Click on Next to continue.

Step 8
Click the dot next to "Yes".
Click on Next to continue.

Step 9
Click the dot next to "Create a new Internet mail account".
Click on Next to continue.

Step 10
In the "Display name" box erase whatever it may have
already entered into it, then type in your full Pacific Online email
address. If you would rather put your name that is fine, but we
recommend only putting your first name and last initial; or your first
initial and last name; or just your initials. What you put in this box
is what people will see when they receive email from you in regards to
who the email is from.
Click on Next to continue.

Step 11
Erase the contents of the "E-mail address" box and enter
your Pacific Online email address in the box.
Click on Next to continue.

Step 12
Erase the contents of both the "Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP,
or HTTP) server" and the "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server) and
enter pop3.pon.net in the "Incoming mail..." box, and
smtp.pon.net in the "Outgoing mail..." box.
Click on Next to continue.

Step 13
Erase the contents of both the "Account name" and
"Password" boxes. Enter your account username (your email
address without the @pon.net) in the "Account name"
box, then enter your password in the password box.
Click on Next to continue.

Step 14
Click on Finish to complete the setup of Pacific Online.
