This page will guide you through setting up your computer to connect to Pacific Online using Windows 2000. You can also get a copy of these instructions mailed or faxed to you by contacting us here.

Step 1
Click on your Start Menu, then go to Settings, then click Control Panel. In Control Panel click on Network and Dial-up Connections, then click on Make New Connection.

Step 2
Click the dot next to "Dial-up to private network", then click on Next.

Step 3
Enter your dial-up number in the box labeled "Phone number" then un-check the box labeled "Use dialing rules". If you are unsure of what your dial-up number is or do not know, you can either contact Pacific Online here or go to our list of dial-up numbers on our web page here.
Please note that Pacific Online will not be held responsible for toll charges that may be incurred by using these numbers so please check that the number for your area is in fact local for you.
Click on Next to continue.

Step 4
Click the dot next to "For all users" then click Next. If you are on a network or use profiles and do not wish to allow access to your dial-up for other users of the computer, click the dot next to "Only for myself". If you are unsure of what you should select here, choose "For all users".
Click Next to continue.

Step 5
Erase the contents of the text box (usually the box has My Connection in it already) and enter in Pacific Online just as we have spelled it here. If you wish to create a shortcut to this connection, click on the check box at the bottom labeled "Add a shortcut to my desktop". This will make an icon on your desktop so that you need only double-click on that icon to get online.
Click on Finish to complete the setup of Pacific Online.

Please keep in mind that these instructions do not setup your email program; you will need to go back to our main Support page, find the email program you wish to use in the list, and run through those instructions to setup your Pacific Online email.
As always, if you have any problems with these instructions or if you have any questions you can always contact us.
