These screen shots and instructions will help you configure your DNS settings to work with Pacific Online.  You can use any DNS settings you desire, however any variation of what is shown below may cause your Internet access to have problems accessing web pages, e-mail etc.  If you have any questions about configuring your DNS settings please call Pacific Online or write to support@pon.net

You may notice minor cosmetic differences between the screen shots supplied here, and your computer.  This may be due to different version (s) of Windows 95/98 and should not effect the overall performance of your system.

Step 1
Open My Computer, then open Dial-Up Networking. Right-click on Pacific Online then select Properties.

Step 3
Make sure that you have PPP selected for the Type of Dial-Up Server. Under Advanced options the only box you should have selected is Enable Software Compression. Under Allowed network protocols; the only box that should be selected is TCP/IP.
Now click on the "TCP/IP Settings" button.

Step 4
Both IP address and Name Server addresses should be set to "Server Assigned" and both IP header compression and Default Gateway boxes should be checked on. If you have any information in either of these boxes delete the data and set both boxes to "Server Assigned".

After you are done here, click OK. Click OK again when you return to the original Properties screen.
