Step 1
Open the group called Microsoft Internet Explorer and double-click on
the Pacific Online icon. That will open the Connect To screen,
shown here. Now click on the Dial Settings button at the right of
this window.

Step 2
Click the tab located at the top labeled "TCP/IP Settings".
Optionally, feel free to check out the settings located near the
bottom of the screen. These may or may not be of interest to you, some
of them include automatically starting Internet Explorer when you get
connected, which could be convenient for you.

Step 3
Make sure your IP address is set to server assigned. Do not specify an
IP address unless you are absolutely sure that you have a reason to do
so, for example if you have requested and paid for a Static IP from
Pacific Online. If you specify an IP address here that is not
established with us, you will have problems getting web pages and
email.
Under Domain Name Service, make sure
you have both your Primary and Secondary DNS settings entered as
216.229.96.10 as the Primary DNS and 216.174.192.250 as the Secondary
DNS. If you wish to use another set of DNS numbers feel free to do so
but we cannot guarentee the reliability of 3rd party servers, nor can
we provide technical support for non-Pacific Online DNS servers.
Conclusion
When you are finished entering in the data for the TCP/IP Settings
tab, click the OK button located at the bottom of the screen. Click OK
again on the original screen and you are completed with the setup of
DNS on your computer.
