These screen shots and
instructions will help you configure your DNS settings to work with Pacific Online.
You can use any DNS settings you prefer, however any variation of what is
shown below may cause your Internet access to not be unable to access web
pages, e-mail etc. If you have any questions about configuring
your DNS settings please call Pacific
Online or write to support@pon.net
You may notice minor cosmetic differences between the screen
shots supplied here, and your computer. This may be due to different
version (s) of
software or service packs and should not effect the overall performance of your
system. |
Step 1
Double-click on your My Computer icon located on the desktop. Now
double-click on Dial-Up Networking. |

Open the Pacific Online
phonebook entry and click on the More tab.
|
Highlight on Edit entry and
modem properties and then left click on that.

|
|
Click on the Server
tab. Be sure that for Dial-up server type you have PPP
selected. For allowed network protocols you should only have TCP/IP
checked, and both boxes on the bottom should be checked.
Next click on the TCP/IP Settings tab.
|
Be sure that Both IP
Address and Name Server Addresses are set to Server assigned.
Specifying an address for either may cause complications with your
service, including the inability to view WebPages and/or e-mail.
