Q:        What is Acceleration?

A:         Acceleration is an exciting new service that dramatically increases the speed of web content delivery over a dial-up connection, giving users the ability to surf the Internet up to 6 times faster.

A:         Pacific Online is including Acceleration for FREE with a regular active paying 56k dialup Internet connection.

Q:        How does Acceleration work?

A:         Acceleration is an intelligent, software based content acceleration application that more than doubles the speed of web content delivery over a dial-up connection by reshaping, reformatting, compressing, and caching content. Acceleration offers a near-broadband experience over a traditional dial-up connection.

Q:        Do I need any new hardware or software to support
             Acceleration
?

Q:        How does Acceleration speeds compare to traditional dial-up speeds?

A:         In tests against standard dial-up, Acceleration more than
doubled the speed of web content delivery over a traditional

Q:        How does Acceleration compare to V.92?

A:         Acceleration provides compression at higher speeds and for a wider variety of file types than V.92; however, combining V.92 with Acceleration offers end-users additional features, including Modem On-Hold and Quick Connect.

Q:        Does Acceleration increase my connection
             speed?

A:         Acceleration increases the speed of web content delivery
by utilizing existing bandwidth more efficiently. While a 56
Kbps connection is still a 56 Kbps connection, by intelligently
shaping requested web content, Propel Acceleration enables your
browser to load content up to 6 times faster.

Propel accelerates Web page text (including plain text, HTML,
markup and javascript) and the most common forms of graphics: Gif,
animated Gif, and JPEG images, Flash and File downloads.

Propel does not accelerate other forms of Internet content, including:
streaming media, such as video and audio streams; secure pages,
such as those used for online banking and credit card forms.
