Note: User's currently using the Slipstream accelerator will need to switch to the Propel software on or before January 1st, 2005. You will want to remove the Slipstream software before installing the Propel Software. This *only* applies to users using Slipstream; this is not applicable to many of our users.

Windows users can remove Slipstream by going to their Control Panel and opening up Add/Remove programs and then removing the Slipstream program. Macintosh OSX users can simply drag the program to the trash can. You can find the program by Ctrl-Click (or right click) on the alias for an application -- on the icon in the dock, for example -- and click "Show Original." A window will open showing the program.

Nov 7, 2005 - Pacific Online implemented a new webmail solution. It is available here: http://email.pon.net - You need to have at least Internet Explorer 6 for Windows to use the New Webmail. You can upgrade here: Also consider Firefox as your browser. It is about 1/4 the download size of Internet Explorer and its also free. If you prefer the old webmail you can use it here: http://email.pon.net/oldwebmail

Secure Webmail
Oct 12,  2005 Pacific Online has implemented a new Secure Webmail. This digitally secures Webmail using a 128bit SSL certificate. If you are engaging in sensitive data in your email consider using this new service. Direct link is: https://athena.pon.net or the secure version of the new webmail is: https://athena.pon.net/newwebmail Plans are underway to integrate the secure mail with the secure authentication feature in conventional email programs such as Outlook Express.

Oct 3,  2005 - Pacific Online will be implementing a new web mail. The new web mail is faster and eliminates some of the "annoyances" found in the current version. You may try the new web mail here: http://email.pon.net/newwebmail

Phone Issues
Aug 2,  2005 5:30 - 5:45pm - Pacific Online experienced an issue with our phone systems.  Incoming calls were being routed to an operator message for approximately 15 minutes before the issue was resolved.

New Office Hours
July 18,  2005 - New office hours will begin Monday July 18th. They are as follows: Monday-Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm. Saturday hours will remain the same from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

Office Closing Early July 4th
July 2, 2005 - Pacific Online will be closing at 12pm on Monday July 4th in honor of the holiday. Happy 4th of July!

Moving home.pon.net Websites
March 14, 2005 - We are in the process of moving all of our home.pon.net personal websites to a new server - as a result, the ability to publish content to any home.pon.net sites will be unavailable until approximately 10:00pm tonight. This does not affect email or dialup service in any way. The home.pon.net sites are still viewable by anyone surfing the net.
